Saline removal for semi-permanent makeup is a technique used to lighten or remove unwanted pigment from the skin. This process is often used when individuals seek to correct or modify eyebrows, lip blush or other cosmetic tattoos. Saline removal involves the use of a saline solution, which is essentially a mixture of sterile saline (saltwater) and other ingredients, to break down and lift pigment from the skin. Botched Ink is all about the results and is a removal brand that can be trusted. LTD Retribution is a fully qualified and recognised Botched Ink Technician.

Following the correct aftercare instructions for your saline tattoo removal can make all the difference towards the healing process. Choosing not to follow the aftercare may reduce the effect of the treatment and may result in undesired problems such as hyperpigmentation, scarring or infection. How quickly you heal depends on each individual. LTD Retribution will not be held liable for any poor aftercare, it is solely your responsibility.

FIRST 48 HOURS

DO NOT let the area get wet for 48 hours post treatment as the area must be allowed to fully dry out. Any redness surrounding the treated area will subside within an hour or two. Redness within the treated area will become brown as the skin dries out. For most people the area will be touch dry within the first few hours however, you are to avoid touching the area at all for the next 48 hours.

Saline wound care wipes can be used to gently remove excess oils i.e. for scalp tattoo. DO NOT use any other products during this drying out phase. For lip liner treatments during this phase keep the movements to a minimum. DO NOT wear close-fitting clothing on treated areas. Don't get the treated area dirty or sweaty for a minimum of 48 hours.

AFTER 48 HOURS

The treated area should now be very dry and a light scab will have formed. You may visibly see pigment scab. After 48 hours you must use the prescribed aftercare on and slightly around the scab twice a day, leaving a light film on the scab. This will maintain a soft thin scab which heals quicker and is easier to manage. You can get the area a little wet when washing or showering but avoid rubbing. If you do accidentally get the area wet, get a clean tissue and hold on the scab until it dry's out. No excessive wetting the area and no swimming, saunas or steam rooms whilst there is scabbing.

Depending on the treated area the scab will remain firmly attached for 5 to 14 days. Excessive movements are likely to crack the scab, which is not ideal whilst healing. DO NOT attempt to remove the scab before it naturally heals away from the treated area.
