Following the correct aftercare instructions for your tattoo can make all the difference towards the healing process. Choosing not to follow the aftercare puts your tattoo at risk from getting an infection. How quickly you heal depends on the size of the tattoo and how intricate it is. LTD Retribution will not be held liable for any poor aftercare, it is solely your responsibility. â€‹

HAND HYGIENE

You must ensure that you thoroughly wash your hands with warm water and antibacterial soap before touching your tattoo.

DAY 1

When you get home you can remove the plastic wrap. You may notice some blood, plasma and excess ink. Your skin may be sore, red and slightly warm to the touch. Ensure to give your tattoo a thorough clean with warm soapy water and pat dry with a clean towel. Apply bepanthen every 4 hours.

DAY 2-3

Your tattoo may appear duller or have a cloudier appearance. This happens when your skin starts to heal and scabs start to form. Ensure to continue to clean your tattoo once or twice a day with warm soapy water and pat dry with a clean towel. Apply bepanthen every 4-6 hours.

Day 4-6

Any redness should start to fade. You'll notice light scabbing. Keep washing your tattoo once or twice a day. Apply bepanthen when needed.

Day 6-14

Any scabs will have hardened and will begin to flake off. DO NOT PICK them or you may pull out the ink and/or leave scars. At this point your tattoo may feel very itchy, gently rub a fragrance free moisturiser several times a day to relieve the itch.

AVOID

Avoid submerging the tattoo in water for a minimum of 2 weeks. This includes hot baths and swimming.

Avoid activities that make you sweat excessively and/or saunas and steam rooms.

Avoid sun damage. Wear protective clothing and apply SPF30+

Avoid rapid weight loss or gain as rapid fluctuations can stretch our or distort the tattoo.
